Stray Cat Neutering Programme
As part of its ongoing efforts to manage and control the stray cat population, the Municipality of Amathounta offers subsidy vouchers covering 50% of the cost of neutering stray cats for its residents.
The programme applies to stray cats found within the municipal boundaries of the Municipality of Amathounta.
Residents who wish to participate must first collect a subsidy voucher from the Health Services Department at the Municipality's Central Offices in Agios Athanasios.
They will then be informed of the participating veterinary clinics where the neutering procedure can be carried out.
Eligibility
The programme is available to residents of the Municipality of Amathounta.
To obtain a voucher, applicants must provide:
- A valid Identity Card or other official identification document.
- A recent utility bill (electricity, water, or telephone) as proof of residence within the Municipality's boundaries.
Please note that the voucher covers 50% of the neutering cost, while the remaining balance is payable directly by the resident to the participating veterinarian.

Important Notice
The 50% subsidy voucher may only be used at veterinary clinics participating in the Municipality of Amathounta's Stray Cat Neutering Programme. It cannot be used at a veterinarian chosen independently by the applicant or at clinics that are not officially partnered with the Municipality.
