Regular Garden Waste Collection Programme

The Municipality of Amathounta informs residents about the implementation of the “Door-to-Door” Regular Garden Waste Collection Programme, aiming at the proper management of garden waste and the maintenance of a clean and environmentally friendly municipality.

Collection will take place once a week on a designated day for each municipal district.

Residents interested in participating may submit an application in one of the following ways:

Terms of Participation

On the designated collection day, the following will be accepted:

  • Up to six (6) small bundles of garden waste, or
  • Up to six (6) biodegradable bags, or
  • Garden waste or grass placed loose in a two-wheel bin.

Important Information

  • The use of plastic bags is not permitted, as they are not accepted by the waste management facility.
  • All collected materials are transported for composting.
  • Following the completion of the application process, the fixed collection day for each municipal district will be announced.

Germasogeia Municipal District

For residents of the Germasogeia Municipal District, the following additional conditions apply:

  • All existing participants must submit a new application.
  • The collection day will change from Wednesday to Friday.
  • The placement of garden waste outside the property is permitted only on the designated collection day.

Annual Fee

From 2026 onwards, an annual fee of €150 per property will apply and will be added to the waste collection charges.
